On December 19 Jamestown had a pep-rally to celebrate winter break and to recognize different groups in the school.
Thanks to our incredible staff we were able to hold a pep-rally which are uncommon for us to have. We typically only get two a year. We played many different games, one being Tug of War. Different boys and girls were chosen at random to compete in the tug war. They went round after round to see what nest was the strongest. There was even a bonus round at the end. (Score board below)

We also played a version of Rock-Paper-Scissors Bead Game where you had to play a game of rock-paper-scissors against someone with a pair of beads and if you win you get that persons beads and so on until, the final two people go against each other to see who gets all the beads. In the end, Jacob Boles (Raptor) won the Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors Bead Game.
A version of Hungry Hungry Hippos was played where each nest had to collect the greatest number of balls from the center of the basketball court. Each nest had a few people lay down on their stomachs on some rollers, and then another person grabbed that person’s feet and pushed them towards the center of the court.
There was a high level of competition between nests even to the point that they were stealing balls from each other to win. There were many victors in the end.
Round 1 – Seahawks
Round 2 – Raptors
Round 3 – Seahawks & Ducks Tie
The student body also played a bottle flip race. People were chosen to flip a bottle and the faster you could flip a bottle and land it the faster you could go out to the court and see if the pads on the floor the letter had indicated. If you picked one up and it didn’t correspond to you then you had to put it back down and run back until your team was able to flip the bottle and land it again. Not everyone was able to participate but even though they weren’t able to they still participated by encouraging their teammates representing.

Besides the games we also had the Choir sing different songs like a sing along of “All I Want for Christmas is You” and the women’s choir song “White Winter Hymnal,” both conducted by Mr. Rapach. We also had the Jamestown Jazz Band play “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and other songs conducted by Mr. Baker.
We also did recognition for our Basketball, Swimming, Wrestling, and One Act Theater teams which have done well this season, some even competing in states.

For this quarter, we had the Bluejays have a lead of 40 nest points, but despite them having the highest number of nest points, the Seahawks were the ones awarded with the nest belt. We would also like to recognize the 120 students who had their last day of high school on the 19th of December. Those students will and have been missed and we hope for them a bright future. Once an Eagle always an Eagle.
