With all the options for extracurricular activities on campus, it can be difficult to decide how to spend your time. However, there are some clubs that stick out more than others, and one fantastic example of this is Cheese Club. Asher Sohoni, the president of Cheese Club, does a wonderful job at organizing each meeting.
To begin every meeting, a brief history of the cheese of the week is given. Then, the real fun begins as every member of the club has the opportunity to sample cheese and fondue. Asher states, “You should join so that you can eat the cheese and know a little bit more about it.” This past month, members had the opportunity to test out a special kind of apple cider fondue and the results were fantastic.
Even if cheese is not always seen as a healthy food, it can be good for overall health if the right kinds are eaten in moderation. According to Harvard Health, “A daily serving of cheese is linked to a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, and death from cardiovascular disease.” If you have considered eating a healthier diet, Cheese Club could be part of your solution.
This club meets every third Thursday of the month after school. If you or anyone you know is interested, please contact Asher Sohoni. Even the least-experienced cheese connoisseurs are welcome!
